Makinde Joins June 12 Protesters In Ibadan [Video]

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state joined other protesters in Ibadan, the state capital to mark the June 12 Democracy Day. Naija News reports that Makinde shocked protesters when he drove himself to the venue with little security to address them. Clad in a brown attire, gvernior Makinde emerged amidst cheers and loud praises. The protesters are protesting against bad governance, insecurity, and against the Muhammadu Buhari adminsitration. Meanwhile, popular Nigerian comedian, Debo Adebayo, also known as Mr Macaroni, has joined protesters at the Gani Fawehinmi Park in the Ojota area, the venue of the June 12 protest in Lagos State.

Oyo State Govt Deploys Amotekun To Ibarapa, Oke-Ogun

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has deployed operatives of the Amotekun security outfit to Ibarapa Local Government Area of the state as part of efforts to curb tension in the area. The Governor in a statement on Wednesday explained that the move was made after meeting with stakeholders including the newly deployed Police Commissioner in the state, Ngozi Onadeko. Naija News recalls there had been tension in the Ibarapa and Oke Ogun regions of the state following the accusation by locals that some Fulani herdsmen operating in the area are responsible for cases of kidnappings, killings, rape, and destruction of farmlands by cattle.
